Behind the scenes
Filming started August 7th
2002. Filming was completed in late Dec. All outside
filming was done first as the crew didn't have a cabin
location until the 3rd week into filming.
In the summer of 2003 the cabin int location burned to
the ground. No one was hurt.
Taken from an interview at horror-web.com:
"Remakes and fan fiction are controversial in that
some people hate them and others absolutely love them.
How do you feel about that?"
Cohen Phillips- I think without them where would we
be? I mean fans are always going to have an idea
about, "what if this happened?" or have an idea about
a picture they like to paint of there favorite
character. That's what I have tired to do is to make a
tribute/homage to the Evil Dead movies and be as
faithful as I could be to the fans and creators.
Anthony Myers- Remakes depend on the people who are
remaking it. If someone tried to do Back To The Future
I would be disappointed. I mean you can have back to
the future without M.J. Fox, Chris Lloyd, Lea
Thomson,Tom Wilson ect. IT would be a stinky remake.
Since it's us we can do it justice(Evil Dead). OF
course that's because it's my opinion and point of
view of the show.
Charla Phillips- Well...I don't have anything to say
about that, it's their choice but I like doing stuff
that's original. But it's cool to have a change and do
a fan film like this.
Laura Bilecki- I like this one. I like fan fiction but
I don't usually. I would rather read/watch original
movies.
Steven McClurg- Well..I can't say much, it's their own
way to think and they can say what they want.
Christian Swift- I'm all for fan fiction, art,
films..as well as cover bands (if they're good)...we
attracted a lot of unexpected hostility to this
project from a certain prolific Evil Dead web
site....I put it down to simple jealousy..these people
don't have the gumption to make a 15 minute film for
themselves. One outspoken critic of our project
(before he's even seen it, isn't that always the way?,
for every hard working director there's 10 'sit on
their arse' 'critics'...yawn..), when challenged to
make a movie himself, he claimed that he had in fact
already made a few shorts, but wasn't willing to put
them on the net, because they would instantly be
stolen by everyone and have 'Green Day' soundtracks
attached to them..sheesh..this guy must be a genius
then! (LOL) ..see, that's all we have to worry
about!...
Tom Sullivan- People who hate sequels and fan fiction
should be held as enemy combatants. Please don't make
money off your work based on others intellectual
property but does not George Lucas give out awards for
best Fan Films inspired by Star Wars. Good for him.
What ever it takes to get inspired to learn your craft
I am for. Just be good to your cast and crew.
